its a preface of my technical book

Hi students, 

                        Follow your heart it do want you like. Engineer are needed everywhere to execute the processes in proper way. To make the complex thing into simple one we had engineers. We all impose the responsibility to the leader who we elect. Responsibility not by giving, it’s by taking. There is no engineer to do a job what we want, we want a things to be done, if you want, you need to be engineer. Degree is a qualification to lead an officially life to illegal people. Without degree but with knowledge you can do this quickly.

So I writing this book for non-engineers and school student who have passion to do engineering work or course. This is aeronautical engineering book. But it is full of engineering term and formula.

First of all, before learning engineering, we have to check our ability, how we can do so, three are three things

• Listening skill
• Analysis
• Experimenting

Let we start the ability test of your mind. For this you need to be alone. And keep this ability test secret if someone know they can keep you down. Do this test alone interaction with friends will make this test fail.

GRADE - 1     

                        Spend money to buy a ruby cube. It has 6 side of six different color. Then shuffle the cube several times of your choice, now the color are distributed in all side. Try to bring color same in their each face has single color like how as when you bought it from the shop.

If you can solve the cube, congrats you have the skill of RAMUNAJAN.

YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO INNOVATE SOMETHING IN ENGINEERING FEILD

(If you can’t able to solve move to next grade)

GRADE – 2

                        You have the video tutorial for solving this cube in this website – www.youtube.com

While watching the video you should not rewind or pause on any stage. Try to solve cube alone with the lecture given in it. (You need to do thing by your own in all occasion)

 If you can solve the cube, congrats you have the skill of listing, if professor solve a problem on board you will solve it.

YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO DESIGN SOMETHING IN ENGINEERING FIELD

(if you can’t able to solve the cube move to next grade)

GRADE – 3

                        You want to download the video tutorial save in it your computer or in mobile.

Then by watching video and solve it, now you can review or rewind and may pause at any occasion. You must be on your own, friend and well-wisher should not involve in any of the process. If you can’t able to solve, keep on trying, watch the video and work it done. Hard work never fails, at last you can able to solve it.

If you can solve the cube now, congrats you have the skill to analysis a problem, if professor solves a problem, you need to work it on home to solve it soon.

YOU HAVE THE ABILTY TO ANALYSIS SOMETHING IN ENGINEERING FIELD

GRADE – 4

                        Now you have the ability to solve a cube

 Find a one young boy or girl of your neighbor home, teach them how to solve a cube, you can find people with different mind set to learn about a cube. Do the needed process so they can understand it quick.

If you can teach cube how to solve, if that guy solve it, congrats you have skill to engage student.

YOU HAVE THE ABILTIY TO LECTURE A TOPIC IN ENGINEERING FIELD

GRADE – 5

 Now find a teenage boy or girls of age 10- 13, group should have 4 person. Try to teach them how to show the ruby’s cube. Lot of question rise with that people, try to answer the question. Teach them and Try to answer the question until they solve a cube.

If they learn how to solve a cube, congrats you have skill to engage a group.

YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO PRESENT PAPER IN CONFERENCE IN ENGINEERING FIELD.

GRADE – 6

            Last grade is to solve the cube in short period. Time consumption is real talent of professional man. Teach a mathematics problem or teach a cube with a timer, not a need to have a stopwatch all the time in the hand.

While solving a problem see the watch what time you start after finishing the problem see the time. Calculate the time taken by you, write time on a plane white paper and through to away. .

Do the other work, where ever you solve the problem calculate time of your duration write it on paper through it away. You need not have to take a direct risk to maintain the time consumption, indirectly and automatic you heart and mind will do it.

Congrats soon you will get the time consumption power.

NOTE: GRADE 1 QUALITIES ALWAYS COME ONLY TO BORN GENIUES, BY PRACTICEING OTHER GRADES YOU WILL DEVELOP YOU AS A GENIUS

            And by undergoing all the grades, you have improved your ability and known your ability, now you have the listening skill, analysis skill, experiment skill.

 And now you need to trust this book and trust in me or trust in you.  At the end you will be the engineer. This book will help all department and person interested to know about aeronautics and aerospace.

When and why did you decide to go for M.Tech?

Siva: In the beginning of 3rd year. There are not many core companies in aeronautical engineering. Also, I had come for 10-day flight training workshop in IITK, which is mandatory for aeronautical guys, and I had a good experience. So, I was looking forward to my MTech here.
Vinoth: 3rd year, I had also done flight training here, that was cool.

When did you start preparing for GATE in full swing?

Siva:  One month before the exam. Whatever we had studied in class was enough for GATE, most of the courses were covered before 3rd year.
Vinoth: Ya, it was kind of revision.

How many hours a day on an average did you devote to GATE preparation in this period?

Siva: 5-6 hours
Vinoth: We usually had class from 8:30-4:30, after that we used to devote our time to GATE preparation.

What was your mode of preparation?

Siva: self-study. Unfortunately, there is no material available for GATE in AE in any coaching center. Even books are not available for practicing questions for GATE.AE was introduced as a separate paper in 2007 only, earlier we had to give XE (engineering science). If you request the application form, from GATE office at any IIT, they provide you previous years' GATE papers.

Did the college curriculum interfere with GATE preparation? If yes, how did you manage it?

Siva: Not at all. On the contrary, if you attend classes regularly, you don't need any coaching.

Did you appear for GATE in your Third year? Do you think it's a good idea to do so?

Siva: Yes, I gave GATE in 3rd year and it really helps. Even if you don't get a good rank, you get a good idea and experience.
Vinoth: I too gave GATE in 3rd year, but score was not very good.But I had some experience which helped me score better, the following year.
Siva: In AE, even if you have a very good rank, percentile goes low, because number of candidates is less. Moreover, there is much competition for admissions, because mechanical and civil guys can also apply for aerospace and the intake is on the basis of GATE score. In 3rd year, I had GATE rank 46, but I decided to take the exam again because I thought I could do better.

What was your way of studying/ what should be the way of studying?

Siva: Its very important to get hold of the right books, in our case it was a hit-and -trial method. At best, you can get previous years' papers for practice.So, one should go through the concepts in detail.There is a course - space mechanics, offered as an elective in most colleges. Its very useful from GATE perspective. I took it in 4th year.

What would you suggest about the last days (say, one week) preparation?

Siva: Relax completely, take enough sleep.I had prepared some notes which I kept on revising during this period. Sometimes same problem is asked in different ways in different year papers e.g. critical loading problem in columns. There are 4 types of loading and question based on at least one of those can be expected every year.

Having so many options, why did you choose IIT-Kanpur?

Vinoth: We missed the deadline of IISc, because it was just 2-3 days ahead of the GATE result and we were unaware of that. Apart from that we applied to IITB, IITKGP, IITM, IITK.
Siva:  Research @IITK is very good, we thought placements would also be good at IITK, although IITB is better in terms of placement. But library, labs and facilities are the best in IITK. One can also get a pilot licence from gliding club. Only IITK has got the airstrip...........
The companies that come to IITK for recruitment are RAC, Airbus, HAL, CSIR (for ME/CE/AE).

Are you satisfied with your decision?

Vinoth:  Yes
Siva: Although grading is very tough here.

How should one choose the institute?

Siva: Other than aerospace, AE people can apply for applied mechanics(IITM, IITD) and ocean engineering(IITM, IITB), civil structures and mechanical structures in fluid mechanics.In IITK, flight mechanics has got only two faculty members which is very less but it has a lot of scope for research.
Aerodynamics, Structures and Propulsion are 3 branches that are very good in IITM. Placements are also good there.

What are your future career plans?

Siva: My first preference is job, but if I don't get placed in a core company then I'll go for PhD. There is a funny thing I would like to share here. I was selected in ADA (DRDO) under BC category. But later I found that I am not eligible for that as I am a general candidate as per Central Government rules. So, I am BC according to State Govt. while general according to Central Govt. An interesting lacuna of our political organisation, huh, but a little traumatic too.
Vinoth: I prefer to get a job after finishing my M Tech.

How would you compare M.Tech from IIT against Post-graduation from abroad?

Siva: MS from abroad would be preferred.

Who should do an MTech?

Siva: Anyone who comes for MTech should have the view that when one graduates from IIT, one should have learnt something new.
Vinoth: If one wants to do research.  Also, after BTech not much oppurtunities are available in India.

Q. Had you covered all the topics in GATE syllabus?
Siva: No. Space mechanics and rocket propulsion I had not touched upon. But unfortunately from rocket propulsion we have a lot of questions.
Vinoth: yes,i covered most of the courses (except space mechanics) & i prepared mathematics just before GATE exam.

Siva: One MUST select the RIGHT books.

"Things to be noted down while facing direct interview "

• If the chief asks you “need anything to drink?” just try to avoid it decently because it’s also the activity to know the character of you.
• Don’t sit in front of them, if they didn’t suggest you sit. Till they respond you need to stand straight.
• Make the direct eye contact with chief , it shows your confident level, if more people interview you make partial eye contact with all its show you making all person to listen to you but at last while finishing the answer you need make the eye contact with person who asked the question.
• Kindly judge the chief age, it will result in positive for you. If the person is old be careful while answering them, because they have single view only through experiences. Don’t argue with them, be patient understand the situation and answer, be kind to them.
• Follow the proper dress code, if it possible follow the company dress code, if will help you in many ways, shirt must be full hand.
• Identify the character of the chief as he is silent type or free talker, in this type, you must be as he is.
• Movement of your hand :
if you show your palm while answering, it shows that you are true to your work
If you palm face downwards, it shows them, you not co-operate with other people, you work on you self, don’t be that every chief want the employ must be in co-operate with other. And while shaking the hands you palm must cross upwards.
Don’t keep the hand in your pocket, it shows them you hiding something.
Don’t specific any points or percentage, it show them you are not patient.
Don’t keep your hands crossed, it shows them you feel to be in safe place or in safe side, don’t be like it.
